Quarto. 207pp. Near fine with two corners bump and bit of toning to the pastedown from the binder's glue in very good rubbed first issue dust jacket (10 tiles on the rare jacket) and moderate edgewear, including chips, creases and small tears. Inscribed by the author using both his pen names: "To Charlie + Marsha - of course - Philip St. John / Lester del Rey." One of the author's early juvenile books inscribed to Charles N. Brown, editor of *Locus* and his wife Marsha, who later married noted British sci-fi artist Eddie Jones. A nice association copy between two important and influential science-fiction editors.

Corners bumped, with light wear. Spine ends a bit crinkled. Small pull mark on the half title page. Tiny spot in margin of two pages, otherwise the inside pages are clean and unmarked. Dustjacket has heavy wear to the spine ends, with paper loss at each end. Corners and edges also worn, including tears, creases and tiny chips. The spine is rubbed and very slightly faded at the top.
