Cloth backed boards in jacket. Bookplate of Nancye Kent Perry (noted Australian entomologist, and later artist who worked with the Heidelberg school) on the front paste-down. Endpapers a little foxed, small bookseller label on front pastedown, a little foxing to page edges, a little offset toning to title page. Gift note of several ines at front signed WH (probably a relative of the artist). Jacket with light edge wear and a little darkened on spine. The contents include Jesse Jewhurts Hilder by Bertram Stevens, Recollections of Hilder by Harry Julius, and Memories of Hilder by Sydney Ure Smith. The book includes My Country, Poem by Dorothea Mackellar, hand-lettered and illustrated with six colour plates. Size: 4to.

Tipped in colour frontispiece and 29 tipped in colour plates. 7 small colour plates to illustrate the poem 'My Country' by Dorothea Mackellar (a 16 page section on different stock, which is tanned, bound in). 16 black and white illustrations, with captions, on rectos only. Lists of Hilder's paintings. On the front free end paper and the following blank leaf are 25 ink signatures and a presentation message to one 'R.C.Addison' (who was Chief Inspector) from his fellow Officers in the Bank of New South Wales 1947. Hard cover. Decorated paper boards over cloth spine. Slighth wear to edges and slight marking. Two dust jackets, the 'inner' with heavily tanned spine and wear (and the 'windmill' device on a blue ground), the outer much cleaner and with only slight wear and marking (and the 'windmill' device on a red ground). Contained in a leather slip case, title in gilt, with wear to the edges. Foxing to top edge of pages. Clean and complete. Only a limited number remain for sale'. The bottom half of the front and the entire back of the jacket with reprints of favourable press notices.
