Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Tears and creasing to some pages, text remains unaffected. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Tears to cloth to spine. Water staining and wear marks overall.

Sir P[elham] G[renville] Wodehouse KBE (1881 - 1975) was a beloved English author who remains one of the most widely read humorists of the 20th century. Some of his favorite characters include the jolly gentleman of leisure, Bertie Wooster and his sagacious valet Jeeves; the immaculate and loquacious Psmith; Lord Emsworth and the Blandings Castle set; the Oldest Member, with stories about golf; and Mr Mulliner. Editor Ogden Nash (1902-1971) was a highly popular American poet best known for effusions of light verse and splendid sense of humor. Previous seller's price scribbled out on front endpaper, and owner's embossed stamp on title page. Otherwise clean and tight. The jacket is worn along the edges, but essentially intact. This is a vintage reprint published in 1936 in red cloth with gilt lettering, four years after the first edition, which was in orange cloth with black lettering (see McIlvaine B2).
