I grew up in Wichita, home of Beechcraft and Cessna. My dad worked for Stearman Aircraft before it was bought by Boeing. So I found this volume of photographs of Waco aircraft particularly interesting. Waco Aircraft started out in Troy, Ohio in 1920 as the Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio, or WACO. They continued to build small aircraft through WWII, but when an expected boom in civil aviation failed to materialize (as it had following WWI), the company went out of business in 1947. Size: 11 X 8.5 X 0.3. book.
