Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. F. J. Widgery Ilustrador. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP, 1918 on the Title Page). As is the case with the few other copies for sale, the tissue guard is very tanned and created a like tanning square on the title page. Including the frontispiece, there are sixteen illustrations, all in color. I turned over every page in the book so I can give you a pretty accurate description of the condition. All the illustrations are present and accounted for. They are in excellent condition. Surprisingly, given that they are on glossy paper, there isn't any foxing. On one illustration there is a very small spot at the bottom corner, and one other illustration has a teeny tiny closed tear off its bottom edge. The pages are exceptionally clean. I don't think I saw any of what I would call soiling. There are large parts of three pages (one the last page of the book) that have a sort of squared off tanning. In two instances the pages are facing another text page, and in the other it's facing the blank verso of a glossy illustration page. If I had seen it on any of the other text pages that face a glossy illustration page I would call it foxing, but I didn't, so it's a little mysterious. The top page edge is a faded green. The middle and bottom page edges are deckled or rough-cut. They did a good job. I noticed only two instances where a very small bit of the outer edge of one page got pulled over onto the next one. I didn't see any conspicuous creasing on any of the pages. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. I usually begin with the condition of the covers. You can see them in the photos. They are quite clean. The gilt lettering on both the front cover and the spine is very bright. The six edges are in excellent shape, no rubbing. The four corners have only very small spots of rubbing. The spine ends have just the usual bit of crinkling/bending, and a tiny bit of rubbing. The book is pretty square and the spine is pretty straight. The binding of the covers is very solid. As mentioned I turned over all the pages and I can report that there are two instances where there is a clear space at the juncture between two facing pages. All four of the pages are solidly bound from top to bottom. There is a very thin space going down a couple of inches from the top edge at the juncture between the last page and the rear end paper, nothing much of anything.
