Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. First Edition, First Printing. Since the early 1990s, Uk's Tim Noble and Sue Webster have been living and working together to create works of art that combine light and shadow with trash and waste and that confront our consumer culture in conceptually ingenious ways. This book contains a wide selection of work, much of it in full-color, full-page photographs, from 1996 to 2011, with an introduction by Nick Cave and a critical and biographical essay by Jeffrey Deitch, as well as an index of works and exhibition lists. 240 pages, 10 1/2 x 13 1/2 inches, with a black dustjacket designed to appear badly ripped and torn, revealing portions of the underlying boards covered with a full color photographic reproduction of one of their trash and waste art works. Boards and text are clean and unmarked, tight and square, not remaindered. The dustjacket shows no more than a bit of minor surface wear and rubbing, no tears, creases or chipping, not price-clipped. A collectable copy. (Given its size and over-4 lb. weight, this book will require some additional postage depending on destination and type of shipping.).

Brossura. Condición: come nuovo. Estado de la sobrecubierta: ottimo. prima edizione. Offering unique insight into the world of contemporary art, this book looks at four generations of artists, from the established to the newly emerged. Photographs of each of the artists, taken by Amanda Eliasch during 2002 in the artists' studios, are set alongside examples of their work. The text by Gemma de Cruz provides a brief overview of who the artists are, what they do and how their work and ideas fit into the art world at this time. This book draws attention to a particular selection of artists who together form a strong idea of what is happening now in contemporary art in London, featuring artists who are influential alongside those they have influenced. I suppose I became interested in art about ten years ago when I met Charles Saatchi at the Amanpuri Hotel in Thailand. I was sitting by the swimming pool and he was sitting with the film director David Puttnam. He asked me where I lived and I told him in Chester Square. "Well, introduce me to your husband because we need clever young people like him." So we became friends, but not within the art world. Johan was his "cleaner," as he called him, he'd clean up his mess and he cleaned up the Saatchi deal between the old and new companies. I really appreciated Charles's help recently as he assisted me with my photographic shows of nudes. The last one he came to he said, "Oh, definitely, definitely commercial, stick to 1930s Paris." I had been working with Martin Maloney and doing some colour photographs, and Martin said, "Keep on with them." Charles said, "If you keep on with them you'd better go into magazines." So I went to New York and took my book round and I got a call back from Visionaire. I then telephoned Katy Barker who was the only photographic agent I knew and asked her advice. She told me that I couldn't show nudes and that I should do some fashion photographs. So I was introduced to a girl named Rushka Bergman who helped me take the correct photographs for my book. I showed them to the photographer Michel Comte, who took me to Italian Vogue. I then did one or two jobs for Franca, including the Kartell Catalogue, which many photographers did. It showed artists in their chairs. She liked the pictures and suggested I do a book on artists in their studios. I asked for a writer, and Martin suggested Gemma de Cruz, and we drew up a list together. The list in the book is quite varied: It is Young British Artists and a few of the Establishment who actually made the young artists or helped to make them. I liked the older guys because I think as a cu.

Embossed Wrappers. Condición: Very Good. First Edition. 62pp, profusely illustrated in color and b&w. Designed by Andrew MacLachlan and Sue Webster. With an exhibition checklist. "Tim Noble and Sue Webster have created a remarkable group of anti-monuments in their eleven-year career, mixing the strategies of modern sculpture and the attitude of punk to make art from anti-art. They sculpt piles of street rubbish, studio debris, and taxidermied animals into astonishing representations of life with "real" shadows of the artists themselves hovering over their accumulations of discarded objects. These abstract forms mysteriously reverse the abstraction into figuration". Published in conjunction with their 2001 Gagosian Gallery Beverly Hills installation "Instant Gratification", this is one crazy-ass over-the-top catalogue cum artists' book from British bad boy and girl Noble and Webster. A handsome example of this uncommon item showing some mild rubbing and soiling to the wrappers. Artist Monograph.

Mint in publishers decorated boards (still shrink wrapped). 144pp. Illustrated. 1st edition. This title offers a first comprehensive look at the work of young British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster, who live in London. "Wasted Youth" perfectly describes their trash aesthetic and raised finger to their art world contemporaries. It features work exhibited in many major galleries around the world, including the Royal Academy and Saatchi. Enormous neon signs, intricate silhouette portraits constructed of trash heaps, and work titled "Instant Gratification: British artists Tim Noble and Sue Webster" seem enthralled with the thrills of illumination, love, language, shadows, garbage, and cash. Illustrated Boards. Condición: Fine. First Edition. 100pp, profusely illustrated in b&w. Designed by Herman Lelie and Stefania Bonelli. Text in English and Korean. Published in conjunction with their 2005 Kukje Gallery exhibition "The Joy of Sex", bad boy and girl Noble and Webster have created an artists' book that drolly appropriates fellow Brit Dr. Alex Comfort's best-selling 1972 instruction manual of the same title by substituting their own images rendered in a similar mundane illustrative style as the graphically coupling couple. A most handsome copy of this uncommon item. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the explicit nature of some of the content here, you must be at least 18 years of age to order this item. Artists' Book.
