The book is clean throughout, the spine is tight, and the pages are neat. The binding is in Black Faux (fake leatherette) with a gilt-edged panel in full colour of The Queen Mary with harbour pilot. The book is in excellent condition, classified as 'AS NEW' as it belonged to a private collector. There are no markings or tanning as far as I can see. (see images). The book and text are both in fine condition, and the spine is still tight; it appears this copy hasn't been read that much, if at all.
