First American Edition of this account of a photographer s adventures in Kenya where he captured images of elephants, giraffes, buffalo, rhinoceros and hippopotami. With the invention of mobile and easy-to-carry cameras, photographers were becoming more and more eager to snap views of things unseen. Thus, in the early 20th-century the hobby of camera hunting became popular and no camera hunters were more popular than Marius Maxwell. According to Sidney Harmer in the preface to Maxwell s Stalking Big Game, camera sport of this kind is no easy occupation, but its devotee must be prepared to risk his life and to stake his quarry in a spirit of adventure not inferior to that shown by ordinary hunters of Big Game.
