George Loukomski (18841952) was one of the most significant figures in the fields of art history and art criticism of Russia's Silver Age. The highest point of his career he achieved In the years of the First World War when were published main works dedicated to architecture of the Russian cities. "Modern Petrograd" refers to this book's series and gives an architectural review of the New Petrograd construction in 19051915. Only during these years were build buildings related to the classical architecture traditions. All the styles falling outside this period (Eclecticism, Russian Revival, Art Nouveau) ignored by author's because they do not go with Petrograd architecture.
