Hard back binding in publisher's original strawberry cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine, top edge dyed red. 8vo. 6¾'' x 4½''. Contains frontispiece, red and black printed title page, [xvi] 342 printed pages of text with 39 full-page monochrome illustrations throughout. Very slight sun fading down the spine, light rubbing to the corners of the spine tip and in Very Good clean condition, no dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. AUSTEN, Jane (1775-1817).

This edition first published in Macmillan's Illustrated Standard Novels series in 1896, this is a 1905 reprint. xvi, 342pp, with tissue-guarded frontispiece and 39 further full page drawings, all by Hugh Thomson. Half bound in leather over green cloth, gilt titles on spine. Top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. 12mo. Covers heavily rubbed at and joints, cracked along front spine joint, backstrip and titles heavily faded. Internally, one gutter cracked between prelims, making front board just a little loose; some light spotting and tanning, mostly on prelims but also occasionally in page margins throughout, else neat and clean. A lovely vintage edition, with Thomson's elegant illustrations.
