Harry Candelario, Fred Fredericks, Jackson Guice, Barry Kitson, Marshall Rogers, Keith Williams, Michael Bair, Lee Weeks, Tom Yeates, Mark Nelson, Doug Potter, Larry Stroman, Timonthy Webster, Tim Truman, Al Williams, Gray Morrow, Mickey Ritter Ilustrador. Set during an alternate history of post-World War II United States, the series follows events after an airborne alien virus is released over New York City in 1946 and eventually infects tens of thousands globally. The virus, designed to rewrite DNA, was developed as a bioweapon by a noble family on the planet Takis, and it is taken to Earth to test on humans, who are genetically identical to the people of Takis. Dr. Tachyon, a member of this family, objects and attempts to stop them. However, his attempt crashes their ship, releasing the virus. The virus affects each individual differently, and it becomes known as the Wild Card virus because of these "random and unpredictable" symptoms. It kills 90% of those who contract it and mutates the remaining percentage. Of that remainder, 9% are Jokers, who develop minor or crippling physical conditions. 1% are Aces, who remain human or mostly human in appearance but develop superhuman abilities; Aces whose abilities are too trivial or specific to be generally valuable are called Deuces. Featuring the work of writer, George R. R. Martin, who is best known for his series of epic fantasy novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, which was later adapted into the HBO series Game of Thrones. Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. First Edition. 1st edition hardcover in dark green cloth covered boards showing bumped spine ends and sharp tips. Tidy former owner's name on fep. 336pp text is crisp and unmarked with one now unfolded dog ear. Price clipped dj is complete with a touch of wavyness to head of both panels, now in new mylar and displays beautifully with color, wrap-around hunt scene on an overcast autumn day after Heywood Hardy entitled Detail from a Lawn Meet at Aske. Captain Marshall was born near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire towards the end of the heyday of the sporting print, when hunting boxes in the county or villas in the Georgian streets of Melton were competed for each season by the world's richest men and women. Growing on his father's farm, where cattle and sheep ran a poor second to horses, young Marshall became through instinct and circumstance first a cavalryman and then a horse-coper. A polished horseman, sensitive, percipient, he could buy what he called 'dogs' and turn them into millionaires' conveyances, or at least decent hunters. Despite the increasing problems of such a trade, he continued it, and lived off it, now well, now frugally, for sixty years. Here he tells the story of his long life, of the horses and the men and women in it, to his friend, neighbor (and Editor in this case) in Dorset, George Millar. With its humor and lighthearted acceptance of life, this narrative must be of absorbing interest both to the foxhunter and to the uninitiated.

16 page vintage program for the 1930 film, announcing its showing at Broadway theaters in New York, with abundant black and white photographs of actors, aerial stunts, and Howard Hughes throughout. Hughes' most expensive and ambitious production, a story about World War I combat pilots, today still a dazzling work of blockbuster action and actual aerial biplane footage. Originally conceived as a silent film and then retooled as a talkie in the wake of "The Jazz Singer." Most of the film is shot in black and white, but one sequence is in color-the only color footage ever released of actress Jean Harlow before her untimely death. James Whale was hired by Hughes to direct the talking sequences, Whale's first major effort in Hollywood, but the overall production took so long, that Whale's subsequent directorial effort, "Journey's End," was released first. Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography. Card wrappers, saddle stapled, 5 x 6.5 inches. 16 pages. Near Fine.

Final White script for the 1949 film. Presentation copy belonging to producer Joseph H. Hazen, in full green leather binding, with his name in gilt on front board and title in gilt on spine, with the single annotation of an "H" in manuscript pencil on the top right of the title page. Although the title and registration pages identify the script as "Part I," the script presented here is the complete Final White Draft. Hazen, though not credited as a producer on the film, was the co-founder of the film's production company, Wallis-Hazen, with Hal B. Wallis, the film's credited producer. Based upon the long-running radio comedy series created by Cy Howard, which broadcast on CBS radio from April 11, 1947 to August 23, 1954. The popular radio series created an early media franchise, spawning this film and its 1950 sequel "My Friend Irma Goes West," a television series, which aired on CBS from 1952-1954, as well as a 1950 comic strip, and a comic book series from 1950-1955, written by Stan Lee with art by Dan DeCarlo. Well intentioned, but not so bright, Irma and her conniving and lazy boyfriend Al, meddle in the love life of Irma's practical room mate Jane. The film debut of the nightclub comedy team of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Lewis was originally cast to play Al, but was quickly realized to be wrong for the relatively straight role, and quickly invented the character Seymour as a comical sidekick to Steve (Dean Martin), and was written into the film, already in production. Set in and shot on location in New York. Bound in full green leather, with Joseph H. Hazen and rule in gilt on front wrapper and gilt title and rule on spine. Title page present, dated February 21, 1949, noted as FINAL WHITE, with credits for screenwriters Cy Howard and Parke Levy. Distribution page present, with receipt intact. 141 leaves, with last page of text numbered 131. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with blue, pink, and goldenrod revision pages throughout, dated variously between 2-24-49 and 4-8-49. Pages Near Fine, binding Very Good plus, with toning to the spine and rubbing to the crown and heel.
