Softcover. Condición: Very Good. Illustrated soft cover 160 pp. Index. Illustrations. A nice collection of Brunch menu's with recipes including cocktails. The worn cover and tear along the spine is distracting. The text block is clean. A good working copy. From the introduction. "The idea of brunch, as it is developed so thoroughly in this entertaining work, throws much light on the richness of our multicultural heritage. As a nation of immigrants, we have many different traditions in food, in drinks, in condiments and sauces, in manners of serving. What makes us all Americans is the way in which we have all borrowed so freely from each other. As a nonprofessional but committed practitioner of the art of cooking, and eating what I cook, I find special joy in comparing my knowledge with culinary lore of others. .I endorse the brunch as delineated in this book as an institution with a promising future." S.I. Hayakawa was a noted semanticist whose willingness to confront striking student radicals at San Francisco State University in the late 1960s led to a career in politics and a seat in the U.S. Senate. A witty, independent and iconoclastic figure whose interests ran the gamut from jazz and African and Asian art to fencing and cooking. ; 8vo.
