xi, 10p., calendared paperstock, sepia device on title page (and other decorations) by Henry Shire; first edition in this format. Sewn into 9.5x6.4 inch plain printed wraps, one of 500 copies printed by Plantin Press in Los Angeles. Dust-soiled with a small bump to a corner-tip affecting all leaves, good copy. The Idwal Jones prefatory remarks run four pages, and remind us that Harte was scarcely twenty-four when he penned these impressions of Gold Rush life in "Wingdam" camp. Literary pamphlets number six.
