calf. Condición: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Calf binding with leather spine relaid. Classic work by Count Saxe on Military operations, tactics, deployment, spies and guides, etc. Translated from French 1st Edition 1757. 195pp., 40 copper plates on 34 folding pages. Note two plates 21 and 22 have damage (21 loss to top corner, very slight loss to illustration) (22, loss of 13cms of plate, part of illustration of gun platform missing, side view unaffected. This is ex Malta Garrison library with various, not too excessive, stamps, " placed on shelves" 1904. There are blemishes and wear to a number of plates. Binding is firm, however endpaper and title page ae a little loose. Contemporary name at head of title page. Overall a fair example of a book which has been well used and is over 250 years old. Very realistically priced.
