The facsimile includes 71 large-format miniatures each framed with a border of gold. In the illustrations, areas of lavishly tooled gold and silver add striking highlights From a letter by David McKitterick, then Librarian of Trinity College, quoted by the publishers: "I cannot imagine how a full facsimile edition of The Trinity Apocalypse in colour could have been bettered. What craftsmanship and attention to detail bave gone into this endeavour! Since 1909 permission has been given just four times to produce a facsimile of The Trinity Apocalypse, but none has achieved as high a standard of reproduction as this edition by Faksimile Verlag Luzern. Having the original manuscript before me, I can honestly say that this recreation of The Trinity Apocalypse is as close to the original as could have been hoped." Copy No. 383. Fine set in the publisher's acrylic box and board slipcase. The box is usable but scratched and slightly scuffed and, along a part of three of the four shorter sides, the large side-panels are not glued to the end-panels; and the long access-panel is broken at its head.
