Someone has written an inscription on the front endpapers. The frontispiece features an illustration of an apparent attack inside a building. On the vellum, which separates the frontispiece and the title page, is this quote: "'Poleon ! hees sojer never fight more brave as dem poor habitants," from De Papineau Gun. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Very clean and unmarked, light scuffing of corners and spine ends. Tight, solid, and square, sewn binding. Two plates partially loose from stitches. Rough cut. William Henry Drummond was a very popular Canadian poet of humorous French-Canadian dialect (patois) poems about rural life in Quebec.
