Funk & Wagnalls. 247pp. 1st edition. Dj pc, torn & rubbed; book very good. 20 menus that can be put together in an hour (although some require a few simple advance preparations), with detailed preparation schedules. The dinners may seem a bit excessive by todays's standards, but some of us believe that anything worth doing is, at least occasionally, worth doing to excess. A word to the wise: feed your friends this well, make it look easy, and you'll never again be invited to their homes for dinner! US.

INSCRIBED by artist Mark Adams (1925-2006), a prolific contributor to the book with several of his watercolors reproduced, as well as his recipe for "Hang In The Well," a hot-weather lunch or supper dish from the farms of the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York often served to itinerant hop pickers at harvest time around the turn of the century.
