Green paper dust jacket with a mounted color illustration on the front cover and an illustration in black on the back cover. Black lettering on the front cover and spine. Black cloth boards with debossed gilt-stamped label, and blind stamped ruling on the front cover. Gilt lettering on the spine. Illustrated title page. The work is #839 of a limited unknown number of copies, of this finely produced work on Spanish country homes by Swiss architect and artist Alfredo Baeschlin. The book includes examinations of 50 country houses. Each house has an informative text page about the subject. Each text page has a small historiated illustration representing the said house. Additionally, for each architectural subject there are two full pages, containing measured architectural plans and illustrations of the facade and exteriors, in b/w. The images are all printed lithographically. The book includes a prologue, introduction and table of contents at the front. The final section of the book is composed of upaginated publisher's advertisements, reproducing the illustrated title pages of other architectural works by Editorial Canosa. Text in Spanish. Dj with some sunning to the spine and along the top edge. A small smudge to the front cover, as well as some light rubbing to corners and some small closed tears along edges. Binding with some light bumping along the bottom edge, and minor rubbing to corners. Light spotting to the top edge of the book block. Interior with some sporadic light foxing and minor smudges throughout. Images mostly unaffected. Starting at p.163 and the final page. Book block tight overall. Dj in good+, binding in very good, interior in very good- condition overall. *Alfredo Baeschlin (1883-1964) was a Swiss architect, artist, and professor, who spend a large portion of his life in Spain and became known as an expert on the rural residential architectural styles of the country.
