Paper. Original Letter. An original undated handwritten note in ink on small Ritz-Carlton Hotel stationary from the late great Actress Dame Judith Anderson to the author and poet Conrad Aiken. The note reads "Dear Mr. Aiken many thanks for your excitingly truthy "The Earthy Mystery" (this part is hard to make out, so this is my best guess) It is indeed a lot to live up to I hope that I will not fail. Most sincerely yours, Judith Anderson. Ms. Anderson was a fine theatre and sometime film actress who is probably most known for her iconic performance as Mrs. Danvers in Hitchcock's Rebecca for which she received her only Oscar nomination. Aiken's is of course the noted poet who won a Pulitzer Prize and the author of both fiction and poetry. Vg. Also included is a very nice large 20pg. souvenir program for "Medea" which was one of Anderson's most famous roles. Fine. Sold as a collection only. Book.
