Publicado por Minneapolis, Minn. - Dayton, Ohio - Denver, Col.: Buckeye Publishing Co. - Buckeye Publishing Co. - Perry Publishing Co.; 1887., 1887
Librería: David Hallinan, Bookseller, Columbus, MS, Estados Unidos de America
Subscription Edition (as stated upon title page). 1288 pages. Hardcover: H 23.25cm x L 16cm. Toned, scuffed, and edge-worn brown paper over dark green boards which appear to be original; boards only tenuously attached; spine's surface material entirely perished with underlying backstrip completely exposed as are quire tips at ends. Some edge-wear and toning to leaves but overall pages are clean. Text block itself still reasonably firm (although book needs to be re-backed per the aforementioned exterior spine). Various items (owner's letters, clippings, recipe sheets, etc.) laid-in and retained for posterity's sake. Originally from Marysville, Ohio (and hence the Buckeye reference in the cookbook's title), Estelle Woods Wilcox issued her first cookbook "The Centennial Buckeye Cook Book" in 1876 followed by "Buckeye Cookery and Practical Housekeeping." This 1887 edition (presumably a "first thus" as its origins lay with its predecessors) greatly expanded upon her earlier efforts (more than twice the pagination) with OCLC locating copies at only four member institutions. Please note that this thick book has an approximate shipping weight of 4.25 pounds (1.92 kg) and may require additional postage for any postal class other than domestic Media Mail.
