Cloth. Condición: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. First Edition. William Henry Fry was a journalist who realized the importance of creating an interest in music in the United States during the 19th century. Until then, music created in America was not considered of the same quality as that created in Europe. But after visiting Europe, he started a campaign in the United States to generate support for the musical arts. This biography shows why and how he succeeded. It also discusses his creation of "Leonora", the first Grand Opera created and performed in the United States. Included are musical score, appendices, and an index. This copy is clean and solid. The dust jacket is missing a few chips.
