Paperback. 133p. paperback, pages toned, old damp stain through a substantial part of the textblock; not musty. Covers chipped at edges. A reprint; there is some dispute about the novel's first appearance, though the 1883 edition from J.S. Ogilvie apparently predates this. The Electric Series, no. 18. Patricia Craig and Mary Cadogan cite this novel as the first to feature an American female detective ("The Lady Investigates: Women Detectives and Spies in Fiction").
