American maker of miniatures. PS, 5¼" X 3½", n.p., 1933 September 12. Near fine. Handsome black and white picture postcard captioned "Ulm Cathedral / (Miniature Model) / Hall of Religion - A Century of Progress - Chicago." Card was neither stamped nor canceled; address portion is blank. A description at the top of the message portion tells Mrosek's tale. After giving some details on the famous cathedral in Wuertenberg, Germany, it gives the vital stats of Mrosek's creation: It "is hand carved from maple and holly wood. It contains 4300 pieces fitted together. It is 9 feet high, 8 feet long, 40 inches wide, equipped with lights, art glass windows, and chimes. Seven years of painstaking labor were devoted." Below this, Mrosek signs and dates it. A superb example of the miniature maker's art and an unusual Century of Progress artifact.
