Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. 5th or later Edition. A Very Good condition copy of this beautiful, half-leather bound book with gold lettering on the spine. The outer edges of the pages are printed to match the pattern of the front and back covers, their verso, and the book's endpapers. A beautiful example of 19th Century binding! This classic work is amply illustrated with body, facial, and skull types that were believed to be the clues to intelligence. In reality this pseudo-science was used most often to support and advance racial stereotyping.
