Condición: Fair. 1903. No Edition Remarks. 454 pages. No dust jacket. The 'Country Life' Library of Sport. Red cloth with gilt lettering to front board and spine. Contains black and white illustrated plates. Pages are moderate tanned with notable foxing to endpapers and text block edges. Former owner's inscription to front free endpaper, with a pencil inscription to paste-down. Liquid staining to pages 256-257. Slight cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Visible thumb-marking present throughout, with a few small nicks, rub marks and water drops along text block edge. Boards have heavy shelf-wear with noticeable bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and considerate rub wear to surfaces. Liquid drops on all surfaces. Fairly heavy tanning to spine and edges. Boards are subtly bowed.

Boards are faded, marks, heavy rubbing to the illustration on the front board,and some fading and loss of gloss surface finish to the cloth at the spine and front board.Spine ends scuffed and bumped.Gilt lettering on the spine is ok though.Front hinge worn although binding is still quite good. Has the stamps of the Metropolitan Golf Club on several pages and one previous owners nam stamp, Has seven ink strokes to rear board, ink stain to front board, corners well bumped, mainly light foxing and spotting throughout, a little heavy on front and rear end papers.Well worn but very servicable copy.
