Founded in London in 1838, the etching club published illustrated editions of works by prominent authors such as John Milton and Oliver Goldsmith, but effectively ceased to exist by 1878. The present volume contains illustrations by Thomas Creswick and John Callcott Horsley among others. In the publisher original illustrated paper wraps. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the joints, with a little warp missing to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound, with bright and clean pages. Very Good. book.
