Paperback. Text by Robert Cromie. Small 4to. Pictorial wrappers. 96pp. Extensive illustrations. Very good. Text block is a strong very good, but outer wrappers are somewhat edgeworn, rubbed and rough along the fragile spine. First edition of this lovely photographic tour of the Windy City, with text by the well-known Chicago writer and journalist Cromie. An interesting association copy, for the half-title page is inscribed large and bold in black fineline: "From / Phil Drell / For / Archie Lieberman." Drell was a noted Chicago photographer who, as a Jewish soldier in the U.S. Army Motion Picture Coverage Unit, documented the Nazi death camp horrors shortly after the war; he also covered D-Day and the liberation of Paris. Recipient Lieberman (1926-2008) is a noted Midwest photographer remembered for his 1974 title "Farm Boy.".
