Bound in dark red cloth over beveled boards with gilt title and elaborate decorative design on front cover and gilt title on spine. Shelf wear to cover edges, endcaps, and corners, clean brown endpapers show some foxing on verso sides. Owners names on ffep. Minor foxing and rubs to a few illustrations, gilt applied to top edge, rest untrimmed. Classical binding styles at their best.

In very good condition. Some rubbing to edges, corners and ends of spine. Some minor light handling/rubbing to boards. Endpapers clean, no penned inscriptions, some mild foxing to engraving of ?Prince of Orange? else plates all very clean and bright throughout. Some minor foxing to guards. Else a very clean and tight copy. 82pp. B&W illustrations throughout. With full page coloured plates and engravings (guarded).

Bound in original gilt-stamped decorated burgandy cloth. Page block head in gilt, others rough-cut. Former property of the Cripplegate Institute, bearing their stamp on many internal pages, but never on the text or illustrations. Additional perforated stamps to title page and final text page. Boards are rubbed along edges, chipped at spine ends and tanned at spine. Small hinge break at FEP, light penned notation to Part I facing page and faint thumb marks some internal pages. Foxing to endpapers and a couple of other pages. Extremely good condition considering age. AD. Used.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Date stated as 1894, though the boards and endpapers are possibly new. The boards are a touch edge worn, with the label on the spine a touch torn. Aside from this, the boards remain strong and sturdy, and the pages have gold gilt along their top edges. Internally, there are no markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are crisp, clean and complete with all colour plates and their tissue-guards present. The binding is secure. JK.
