Hardcover. Condición: Fair. First Thus. A collection of 63 fairy tales by Andersen translated by H W. Dulcken (1832-1894), one of the foremost translators of these tales in the world. In 377 pages. No publication date in book, c. late 1800s. Hardcover 12mo (5" x 7.25") has green cloth-covered boards decorated with an elaborate floral design in darker green & gilt to front & spine, lettered in gilt to spine. Condition is downgraded to Fair because the pages are extremely brittle & fragile: title page & table of contents have come completely detached, & others threaten. Heavily tanned, but unmarked. Both hinges intact, but cracked at gutters following endpapers. Heavy rubbing to both ends of spine, with some fraying & cloth loss. Bumped corners. A fragile but lovely vintage edition of these marvelous stories, which includes many lesser-known & obscure ones. Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive from us, never "stock" image of books we don't actually have! All orders processed before 2 pm Weekdays (PST) ship that same day; weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
