Libro
Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. This SCARCE very nice 2 volume set details the history of the Girondins, who were a political group in France, during the French Revolution, from 1791 to 1793. They were active in the Legislative Assembly, and were among the first supporters of the ABOLITION OF SLAVERY. These books were printed in Brussels in 1847. Volume 1 is 482 pages, and Volume 2 contains 454 pages. The first 5 pages of Vol. 1 are chipped on the front edges, with several slits on the bottom edges (INCLUDES THE TITLE PAGE). The first page of Vol. 2 is similar, BUT no text is affected in either, AND ALL OTHER PAGES OF BOTH VOLUMES ARE IN FINE CONDITION !! The set was in the Harvard University Library, and was very handsomely rebound by them in fine cloth, with Gilt spine lettering, top & bottom spine lines & "1847" embossed at the base of both spines. There are blind library stamps on the Title page. Additionally, there is a Harvard College Bookplate just inside the front board of both volumes & negligible marks, inside the rear board of each, where a pocket once was, BUT removed and nicely cleaned up. Otherwise, there are no library markings, and the volumes present well, and would grade VERY GOOD +. Lists to $200 for the set.
