Hardcover. Blue cloth, gilt letters on spine & front cover, 78 pp. 11 color, 20 bw plates. An artist biography of American impressionist Theodore Robinson (1852-1896). The basic manuscript from which this book evolved was written around 1920, with the willing contributions of many American artists who knew Robinson personally. It was originally going to be published by Frederick Fairchild Sherman, but that publisher's financing ran out prior to the printing of the volume. For this publication, it has been somewhat updated by Clark and reworked to include the color and bw illustrations. Presents an image of Robinson not seen in other publications. Limited printing, scarce. VG (Label & few marks from previous gallery owner: otherwise close to Like New; #445 of 2000 copies.).
