He does, with the startling exploits of his hero. Book condition: Cover corners are worn so that a little board clearly shows on three corners. Top and bottom of the spine cover is missing circa 1/16 of an inch. Spine lettering has faded, but still can be read. Top edge has been dyed blue, other two are a moderate tan color. Contents are a pale-tan color throughout. Owner's name is written on an blank page following the front fly. Contents are complete, binding is tight, condition is nice for its age.

A grumpy scientist is unwillingly involved in a series of fantastical adventures around the world. The volume is extensively illustrated with one hundred and twenty illustrations throughout the text. There is also thirty-two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear.There is an inscription to the front free endpaper which reads:To Mr Alfred Darwin, junior, A Christmas present from Dr J. B. Quies.Christmas Day, 1886. In the publisher's original decorated cloth boards. Externally, generally smart. The spine is a little faded and bumped and there is some fading to the joints and extremities and a few marks to the boards. There is an inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound with generally bright and clean pages with the odd scattered spot concentrated to the first few pages. Very Good. book.
