Draper was the corresponding sect'y of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin & Jackson was a lawyer associated with the lead mining industry in the state and later became territorial attorney general in 1842. Thwaites, of course, is a noted Western and frontier historian. An accession bookplate is affixed to the ffep. The library or institution is not identified, but the plate has a shield & a statement in Latin around it. No other library markings. Vg condition, but we note the lower front cover corner is bumped and soft with just a touch of fraying. This original edition very scarce, perhaps rare. Your bookseller found this copy in Quebec ten years ago!.
