Hardcover. Condición: Good. 3 volumes bound in 1 [and probably published as a single volume by Sower]. vii, 280, 168, 16p. Old (contemporary?) leather. 19 cm. Cover has substantial scuffing and significant edge-wear, and is also split along top half of front joint. Original endpapers and a blank before the rear endpaper have ownership names of early owners ( "Sarah Thorns Book 1770, John Tho. Glover Book 1774. John Thorne Glover . 1779, John Glover 4th Mo 25th 1811, and also a later Glover in 1895). OCLC locates lots of copies of this Colonial American publication. Few, if any, of those appear to include the Benezet pamphlet, first published in 1759. Benezet, a French-born Pennsylvanian, was a prominent early abolitionist. A brief online search suggests that all or most of the Glover signatories lived in or around Haddonfield, N.J., where some of them appear to have owned a fulling mill (for wool). Editions not given other than for the Benezet pamphlet which is identified on its title-page as Second edition.
