Dark navy blue hard covers with gild lettering on front and spine. Few scuffs and rubbings; minor wear on corners and spine ends; minor shelf wear. Most of the letters were written during over a dozen years--from their early childhood until they reached maturity. Many were sent during times when he was separated from them-trips, Spanish War, etc. Before they coud read, he sent "picture letters"-crude drawings to illustation the written text. Letters addressed to Ethel; Sarah; Kermit; Archie; Quentin Ted Dolly, etc. in book. Book autographed on front inside blank page by a professional impersonator of Roosevelt, Mel Young, to current owner of this book at a program, "An Evening with Teddy Roosevelt" held at Wabash Valley College Brubeck Arts.
