Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Samue Chamberlain Illustrations Ilustrador. Book Club Edition. Ninth Printing Revised and Enlarged. Dust jacket has shelf wear and repairs at edges, stain on back panel. The last end page of the text has a small hole and a thin stain along the side edge, otherwise very clean and well bound. This classic of gastronomic literature is a unique combination of recipes, reminiscences and humor. First published in 1943, this is an enlarged anniversary edition, revised by Mrs. Narcissa Chamberlain and containing 42 new recipes. Clementine, the round, rosy-cheeked Burgundian, was the treasured cook of the Chamberlains when they lived in pre-war France. When war threatened, the Chamberlains persuaded her to move with them to their home in New England. Clemetine measured up to the challenge and began adapting French cooking to American food, with unforgetably delicious results.
