Green cloth, lettered in black on spine and front cover; dustjacket; 293pp. Tight, Near Fine copy in the original illustrated dustwrapper, slightly creased and rubbed on rear panel but still unclipped and quite presentable, Very Good or better. Depression-era novel with a Chicago setting, in which a wealthy businessman, facing unexpected early retirement, finds himself immersed in a community of park-dwelling eccentrics, including demimondaines, political radicals, and a precocious young artist. The park is clearly modeled on Chicago's Washington Square Park, better known as Bughouse Square. Highly uncommon, especially in dustwrapper.
