Contains 23 essays on diverse subjects ranging from Churchill?s career, to war, to politics, and some musings on the future. 320 pages, frontis portrait of Churchill at his easel. Reprinted many times over the years, but firsts have now become uncommon, and scarce in nice condition. Book has clean covers and bright gilt, top front corner bumped, some wear along bottom edges. Binding is firm, page edges free of spots, contents clean. Dustwrapper is darkened overall, splits at tops of both joints and the top of the spine has some repairs. (A39a).
