Black and White boards with black spine and white titling, and white boards with black titling and decoration. In the original publisher's dustjacket, with identical decoration and titling. There are a lot of creases to the lamination on the spine - which may have happened in the printing. The very edges of the d/j are a little discoloured. The dustjacket is NOT price-clipped. The page fore-edges are very lightly toned/slightly 'cream/yellow', and there is one small brown mark affecting the very edges of 2 blank pages at the end of the book. Internally Excellent. There is a neat gift note in ink to the former owner, dated 1988, to the top of the front free endpaper. NO other marks that I can see. (xvi) + 250 pp. A reprint of the original 1926 edition, with a New 'Foreword' by Byron Rogers, plus a black and white frontispiece (of the author) and numerous b/w illustrations which include many ADDITIONAL PHOTOS, which differs from the original edition which only had 8 illustrations, from private and other sources. Now including illustrations of famous Welsh homes, etc. This book is a serious social history of the landed gentry of (mainly) South West Wales. Snubbed by the critics who were in the authors own 'class' when this book was first published, the author felt that the gentry were both maligned and neglected in the past, their chief crime - poverty! . But he felt he was "writing for 'impartial and serious historians of the future'. An unusual and fascinating book, which on one level also tells the story ". Of his (the Authors') own childhood and youth in the company of Welsh Gentry families. Overall, apart form the light discolouration to the dustjacket and page edges, this is a Very Good, tight, bright copy. SEE IMAGES. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. N° de ref. de la librería 113879
