Título: A Short History of Engraving and Etching : ...
Editorial: Boston / New York: Houghton Mifflin Co. 1908
Año de publicación: 1908
Edición: 1st Edition
Hard Cover. Very Good/No Dustjacket. First Edition. large 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 473 pages. With full bibliography, classified list, and index of engravers. Contains a frontispiece in photogravure and 110 illustrations in the text. Still considered by many to be one of the best source books available on the subject. This is a thick, heavy, well-made book. The book is in red cloth-covered boards with very clean, bright gold lettering on the front and gold lettering on the spine which is only slightly duller than that on the front. The top exterior page edges are also in very clean, shining gilt. The pages are coated, high grade, glossy paper. The book has no major flaws to note, just brief, occasional extremely minor signs of prior reader handling or shelf use. It is exceptionally clean, it stands perfectly straight, and it is still very firm and tight in its binding, with no pages loose, missing, folded or torn. The hinges are sound and hold the text block well in place. The corner points are sharp and unbumped. The pages are clean, clear, and unsmudged, with just a hint of age toning at the edges, and all text is bright, sharp and very legible. There is no writing, underlining, highlighting or markings of any kind in the book. There is a bit of occasional light rubbing (as opposed to wear) to the cloth at the extremeties, but the cloth binding is virtually unworn anywhere else on the boards. There are no tears, snags, fraying, or pieces missing. NOT an ex-library copy. N° de ref. de la librería A131
