DRAWINGS FROM BURNE-JONES to Robert Catterson-Smith, dd. 20th April 1896 headed Walker & Boutall "You didn’t give me your address I think will you kindly send it? I got three drawings from the Grange this morning, yours (signed with initials) E.W. (Light spotting) v.g. Emery Walker (1851-1933) Engraver, Photographer and Printer. Secretary to the Hammersmith Socialist League. He aided Morris in the setting up of the Kelmscott Press and went on to establish the Doves Press with Cobden-Sanderson. He photographed the Burne-Jones drawings for RCS to translate into black ink and chinese white for making the blocks in the production of the Kelmscott Chaucer. Robert Catterson Smith worked on the designs of Burne-Jones to ready them for printing. One of his major achievements was his work with Morris & Burne-Jones on the Chaucer.
