Turquoise cloth bound boards with maroon titling to the spine and front cover. In the original publisher's pictorial dustjacket which is price-clipped and has white titling to the spine and front cover. There is a single slim pale line running down the front cover which I assume is a flaw in the cloth, as printed/published. There are some LIGHT uneven patches of 'fading' to the spine - specifically - just under half a cm to the top and bottom of the spine, a small vertical 'line' under the authors name and a 'sort of' oval to the central spine. None of this affects the titling/lettering and Overall, due to the d/j, the cloth has remained a pretty deep turquoise unlike many copies of a book which is usually prone to LOTS of fading. There are some light foxing (brown) spots to the page fore-edges, some browning/sunning to the endpapers and there is a neat gift note addressed to the former owner written on the front free-endpaper and dated March 19th '51. The dustjacket has small pieces/chips (none deeper then 1/2 cm) missing from the spine top, some wear/chipping to corners and rubbing to the folds. The chipping and tears are now neatly closed and repaired to the inside of the d/j with clear archive tape. The dustjacket is now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks Good or better. Internally there are NO Other inscriptions or marks. 288 pp. Overall, apart from the 'faults', as detailed above, this is a Tight and Secure, Near 'Very Good Minus' copy. "Richard Vaughan is a native of Carmarthenshire and was born near Llyn-Y-Fan. Moulded in Earth was written while the author was serving with H. M. Forces during the war. " ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
