Generally good only condition. The titles represented here include: 1. Our Little Spanish Cousin. 2. The Spaniard at Home. Signed. 3. The Spaniard at Home. 4. The Little Marshalls at the Lake. An attractive book with an automobile themed illustration on the front board by the Decorative Designers. 5. With a Pessimist in Spain. Nixon's own copy, inscribed by her "Ex libris Mary F. Nixon, November 8th, 1897". 6. A Harp of Many Chords. Signed. 7. Indian Folk Tales. Inscribed to a family member. 8. Lasca. Warmly inscribed to "To Aunty, with the love of one to whom she has been a second mother - the Author. November, 1898." 9. Lasca. Inscribed to "my little mother, with love - the author." 10. Lasca. Inscribed to the man Nixon - Roulet would shortly marry. 11. The Waif of Rainbow Court. Inscribed to a family member. Also included with the lot are thirteen additional books by Nixon - Roulet, one of which is signed and three of which are inscribed to family members. These additional books are in very poor condition. Nixon - Roulet wrote at least twenty books. Many of her books have Catholic themes. A longtime St. Louis resident, she also resided in Chicago for a time and was a journalist for The Times - Herald and the Post. Despite her obvious commercial success she is unaccountably little known today. We were unable to locate any signed or inscribed examples of her books on the current internet market.
