The two text volumes are bound in full early light brown leather with darkened brown on the spines Four raised bands on the spines with gilt rules and gilt lettering on black labels. Apart from a few spots of scuffing, the covers are perfectly sound and the gilt is bright. Frontispiece portrait of Washington in vol I. Marbled endpapers. Hinges are perfectly sound. Contents are complete, tight, clean, and bright. The atlas is in 3/4 leather over light green slightly soiled paper covered boards with the orignal pink paper label on front. All three volumes have the bookplate on the front pastedowns of Edward Wigglesworth, presumably the early descendent of the colonel who served under Washington.
