Slected and with introduction by Christopher Morley. Illustrations by Lewis C. Daniel. 4to. Green burlap with paper spine label, slipcase. xiii, 316pp. Full-page illustrations (some color). Very good/good plus. Binding a bit dry and sunned on spine; slipcase edgeworn and quite rubbed, with discreet expert archival reinforcements, thus strong. A tight and attractive copy of this reprint of this publisher's 1926 edition, with spectacular illustrations -- and this copy with a nice autograph addition: Tipped to the front flyleaf is an archival decorative-edged bookplate signed boldly in full in turquoise fineline by famed Walt Whitman biographer Gay Wilson Allen (1903-95), who in 1981 authored the Pulitzer Prize-nominated "Waldo Emerson: A Biography.".
