Very Good to Near Fine in a Very Good dustjacket. Exceptionally well-conditioned copy of scarce early edition. DJ flap reads "Here is a new series of mystery st ories for girls" The book is the "thick" version, in light green cloth-covered b oards with maroon (pink, mauve, purple) lettering and the "open door" pictorial on the front. The endpapers are the "flashlight" version, also in pink (maroon, mauve, purple), and the top exterior page edges are dyed the same pink to match. The book is in amazing condition, very firm and tight in its binding, with soli d hinges. Immaculately clean and extremely straight, no lean, no roll, no cockin g. In fact the only flaw to the book itself is a slight toning from age to the i nterior and exterior page edges. The exterior boards, especially, are remarkably fresh. The dustjacket flap lists to this title as does the rear jacket panel, a lthough the first four titles in the series are all listed. In other words, thou gh this is book #3 in the series it is listed 4th on the jacket, a situation cre ated by the simultaneous release, in 1933, of at least the first 4 titles in the series. Each of those books listed all four, with itself being the last listed. On the advertising page at the end of the book, only 3 titles are listed, in th e proper order, with this being the lasted named. The jacket itself is completel y intact with wear at the corners and light to moderate edgewear at the extremet ies. There are a couple of very short, well-closed edge tears, but little if any resulting paper loss. Colors still quite bright. An exceptional copy. We also h ave numbers 1, 2, 4 and 5 in 1st or very early editions, in at least the same co ndition as this book. Call for details. Illustrated by Drawings by Pelagie Doane . 1st Edition.
