Sinopsis: A 7.1 earthquake strikes S.F. on 10/17/89. Not only do ruptured gas lines cause a major fire in the Marina District, but broken underground mains leave firefighters without water to battle the spreading flames. So begins the heroic adventure of Frankie, the portable hydrant, and the Fireboat Phoenix.

Biografía del autor: Marc Goldyne, M.D., PhD, a San Francisco native, is a Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), and has a private practice in the City. He trained at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. He is a published biomedical researcher, medical illustrator, and continues to pursue his passions of drawing, painting, scale-model building, and music (violin, guitar, mandolin).

Donald Farnsworth, known internationally as a master printmaker and papermaker, is the Director of Magnolia Editions in Oakland, CA. He has taught in the art departments at U.C. Davis, U.C. Berkeley, San Francisco State University, California College of the Arts, and the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. His command of both traditional techniques and digital technology has led to collaborations with a wide range of artists, most recently on an innovative series of fine art tapestries.

Nancy Watten Coopersmith is both a writer and a book artist who operates Pelirroja Press in San Francisco. She has studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, California College of the Arts, and the San Francisco Center for the Book. Her one-of-a-kind handmade books are exhibited in the Bay Area.
