Editorial: London for William Keblewhite
Año de publicación: 1694
First London edition, 8vo., (4), 196pp., contemp. calf, with impressed label of a Diocesan Library, some light wear. An important publication by William King (1659-1729), Lord Bishop of Londonderry and later Archbishop of Dublin . The growth of Nonconformity in his Diocese and particularly in the City of Derry , the growing insolence of the Presbyterians, and the growth of Sectarianism prompted King to enter into a lawsuit with the London Society in order to prevent the letting of waste lands to Presbyterians. Pending the outcome of the Lawsuit King published this work which has been described as "clever and plausible performance" and "written in a spirit of affected friendship for presbyterians".
