An early edition of Tollius' translation of Appianus' Roman History, displayed in parallel columns (with marginal annotations by Stephani) of the original Greek and the Latin translation. Appianus of Alexandria, a Roman barrister, completed the original history prior to 162 CE. It provides a view of various peoples, detailing their early history and incorporation into the Roman Empire. Typeset by Paul Vanden Houte, Academie Duc. Gelriae & Comit. Zutphaniae Typographi. Both volumes very good with moderately worn cover corners and spine edges, lightly soiled spines, and small loss due at spine heads.
