The Battle of Britain: 50 Years on - Tapa dura

Placing the Battle of Britain in a wider perspective, not just Spitfires and Hurricanes, but also looking at bomber command, coastal command, and the Army and Navy, and even the U-boats. It is timely that consideration should now be given to this wider context, as the prelude to the Battle of the Atlantic, relating what took place in the summer of 1940 to the overall course of the war, rather than an isolated skirmish. An analysis of German priorities, and of the British response to their strategy, a look at where the bombs fell, the battle on the "home front" and the use of maps and diagrams all make their contributution to this study.
